A Proposal Story

Jenn and Chris met at a local community college that is nestled next to a lush field with a lake and a lone willow tree. The pair were drawn to the willow tree and oftentimes were found there in between classes and at the end of the day. Their relationship, dreams, and passions blossomed under the care and support of each other and the tree. Jenn would oftentimes use fallen branches to flirtatiously smack Chris when he was being facetious.

Their relationship continued to flourish and blossom along with the lush field and willow over the next few years. Then one beautiful sunny spring day Chris took Jenn back to their special place for “old times sake”. As the two stepped out of the car and let the nostalgia of their surroundings wash over them they took note of a lady walking and playing with her daughter along the edge of the lake. Chris slowly led Jenn over to the tree where they sat fondly recalling moments of hilarity from years past. Jen may have even fallen back into your old playful branch ways but to this day pleads the fifth. 

After some time, Chris smiled, took a deep breath and got down on one knee. He told Jenn how much he cherished their story and how he would like to continue to deepen that story with her. Then he popped the nerve wracking question and he asked her to marry him. Jenn screamed and tackled him to the ground, which to this day he assumes meant “yes”. The scream was echoed with loud cheers from the lady and daughter across the lake that had stopped to observe them.

Jenn and Chris were married the following May, their ceremony reflected their child at heart mentality and their dedication to their faith. The reception and photos that followed were outside on a friend’s property that had a lovely lake and even a willow tree. Abagail to this day is delighted to be part of her friend’s special day. Her attention to detail and admiration for their love story ensured each element radiated who Chris and Jenn are as individuals and as a couple.
