Stacked up to “I Do”
A Proposal Story
Bobby and Arielle, both born and raised in Missouri, met while in college and became fast friends. It wasn’t long before their friendship grew into love. Their unique personalities and quirk’s along with their differences made them perfect for each other. Granted as in any relationship there were a few bumps in the beginning, but through thick and thin they were there for each other which made their love and admiration for each other that much stronger.
After five years of dating, Bobby knew that Arielle was the only one he envisioned spending the rest of his life with and was ready to pop the big question. Knowing how important her family was to her, and having loads of respect for her father, he mustered up the courage to ask him for her hand in marriage. Once he had Arielle’s father’s enthusiastic approval and her grandmother’s ring in hand, which Arielle had voiced to her family and closest friends was her dream engagement ring, he set his plan into motion.
Over the years he and Arielle had been dating they had spent many-a-morning at a local restaurant called First Watch. Reflecting on all their time, fond memories, and inside jokes that they shared at that table he knew it was the perfect spot to propose. So on a not so unusual morning there they sat at their favorite booth waiting for their food. To pass the time, as they often did, he suggested playing the hand stack game. Arielle played along, blissfully unaware of what was about to happen.
After stacking hands for several moments and once Bobby’s hand was on the top of the stack he lifted his hand to reveal the heirloom ring. Shock and elation consumed Arielle as he asked, “Will you marry me?”
With tears of joy streaming down her face she took a deep breath, smiled and said, “Yes.”
The restaurant erupted with applause and cheers as all the patrons had been watching the young couple and their not-so-usual breakfast ritual. Once Arielle could compose herself they shared their great news with all their loved ones. A year and a half later Bobby and Arielle were married on February 14th in a ceremony that was uniquely them and surrounded by their friends and family.
Abagail, not only as a planner but also Arielle’s sister, was overjoyed when the couple asked her to help plan and coordinate their special day. You can read more about this couple’s memorable wedding day on Elaborate’s blog.
